Warts may appear as single lesions, but more commonly they occur in clusters. They are most frequently located on the neck, under the armpits and breasts, on the fingers and feet, as well as on the trunk.
Most warts are caused by a skin infection with viruses from the human papillomavirus (HPV) group, although they can also be caused by other viruses. Some warts may develop as a result of UV exposure.
Warts can be effectively removed using radiofrequency. Radiofrequency removal is a modern, precise, and controlled method, with minimal pinpoint bleeding of the skin. Before each procedure, a dermatologist performs dermoscopy to ensure that the lesion is benign. In cases of larger lesions or sensitive patients, local anesthesia may be applied.
After the procedure, small scabs may form and typically resolve within a few days. Once the warts are removed, no scars remain on the skin. In most cases, a single treatment is sufficient to achieve the full therapeutic effect.
