Spider Veins

Dilated capillaries (telangiectasias) are enlarged blood vessels on the surface of the skin, representing a significant aesthetic concern, whether they are on the face or on the body. When on legs, they can be associated with varicose veins, and their treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach involving a dermatologist and vascular surgeon.

There are numerous reasons for their formation, including genetics, excessive UV radiation exposure, prolonged sitting or standing, pregnancy, certain medications, and lately, the application of various heat treatments on the body (such as cellulite massages, RF treatments, and laser hair removal). Often, dilated capillaries resemble a spider web pattern and can expand over time if not treated promptly.
